Description

Artwork:

This piece is a tribute to the works of Gordon Parks, the great Photographer and Artist. It has spoken to me from the first time I saw the photo probably 30 years ago and I couldn't get it out of my conscientiousness. It is an example fo enormous strength and grace under the most difficult conditions and to me it represents the phrase " Freedom isn't Free" better than the military reference because Black soldiers like many of my family members had to go through much to pay the price of Freedom for people like me.

I'm a 62 year old hack painter who is just recently learning to express myself through painting and I am grateful that I have a little time left to leave something lasting for someone who is touched in any way by something I've done.
