Amanda Wirig - Painter / Art Gallery Owner
(Minneapolis, MN) -
Amanda Wirig’s paintings and mixed media work utilize pop culture and humor to address social and political issues in a meaningful and forthright manner. In addition to her art, she is a musician, teaching artist, and the owner of 119 North Weatherly art gallery in Minneapolis. From 2018-2019 she served as a fine arts juror as part of the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.Wirig received a BFA in Art and a BA in Music from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and later received a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from the same university. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the Midwest, including the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, the Edward A. Dixon Gallery in Dayton, OH, and the David Leonardis Gallery and 33 Contemporary Gallery in Chicago, IL., as well as at Blue Line Arts in Roseville, CA, Las Laguna Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA, and the Jen Tough Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. She recently acquired representation with TRiCERA contemporary art gallery in Tokyo, Japan.She is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the Jerome Foundation, Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council/McKnight Foundation, the Minnesota State Arts Board, INFUSE Artists on Main Street, and the Split Rock Arts Program

Jamaal Durr - Contemporary Artist
(Dayton, OH) - Jamaal Durr is a Contemporary Artist known for his figurative mixed media works and portrait drawings. With materials such as oil paint, charcoal, and graphite, the artist often creates timely and significant narratives that focus on masculinity and self reflection. Born in 1992 in Lima, Ohio, he now resides in Dayton, Ohio where he received formal training at Stivers School for the arts. He also had a brief stint at Pratt Institute studying architecture. His work has been exhibited at galleries such as The Contemporary Dayton, ADC Fine Art Gallery in Cincinnati, and the Columbus Cultural Arts Center. In February 2023 he made his curatorial debut with Art Noire, an event in collaboration with the Springfield Museum of Art. Jamaal’s artwork “Everything is Fine” was the Best in Show winner during the Ohio Art League’s 2023 Spring Juried Exhibition.

Ed Dixon - Art Gallery Owner
(Dayton, OH) - Ed Dixon is a native Daytonian and opened the Edward A. Dixon Gallery in the Fall of 2017 in Downtown Dayton, Ohio. After years of involvement in the music, film and fashion industry, Ed decided to turn his attention to his passion for visual art and began the curation of artwork from artists on a world-wide scale. He has curated and hosted multiple shows at the gallery that have included artists such as Sabrina Terence, Ronnie Williams, Marilynn Page, Erica Arndts and the late, legendary Beatles animator Ron Campbell. Exhibition themes at the gallery have included We’re Doing It ALL Wrong and JOY (That’s Just What I needed). He also served on panels for exhibitions and artist grants such as Art of Soul! Juried Art Show presented by NAAMCC , the Ohio Art League Fall Show and the Culture Works Special Projects Grant.
Ed spends much of his time promoting the visual arts, he serves on the Dayton Art Institute Collections Committee, the Executive Committee for the Dayton Sister City Committee, maintains his realtor license, serves in an advisory role for the Dayton Emerging Fashion Incubator, writes for his travel blog and is an avid investor. Additionally, Ed is a patron and a member of several local art organizations including the Dayton Society of Artists, the African-American Visual Arts Guild, The Contemporary and the Dayton Art Institute, as well as, the Cincinnati Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
