Description

Artist Statement:

Growing up on Long Island, CA Murphy had a deep passion for art. However, she instead became an exemplary doctor of medicine for two decades. Despite great success, the desire to create could not stay dormant. As a physician, she found time with patients profoundly moving and meaningful, from emotional low points to joyful highs. Each individual entrusted her with being part of their journey. This inspired CA to cultivate a deep appreciation for life's fleeting nature, reigniting her passion for the arts.

She traded The Art of Medicine for The Medicine of Art and has now won major international art competitions, with many works displayed in museums and galleries nationwide. She is incredibly honored to have her artwork highlighted in several juried competitions and exhibits, including her painting “Treelight” in the Arborescent II National Juried Exhibition at the Alex Ferrone Gallery in the Hamptons, "Bow Beneath the Bough" at the 36th September Competition at the Alexandria Museum of Art, her painting “Jinping” and “A Soldier’s Story” in the 2023 Abstract Only! 13th Annual Multimedia National Juried Competition in Wailoa, Hawaii, her painting "After the Party" at the 36th Annual Northern Art Competition, and her painting "Red Hot Summer" in the Summer Camp Juried Competition at the Shockboxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach, California. She is also pleased to have her "Blue T-32, Hike" painting featured in Fusion Art's 4th Annual Still Life Juried Competition, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Murphy truly loves creating art and sharing her gift for art to tell the stories of our world and its people. As a powerful narrator of modern society, she is a popular contemporary artist with a growing following and an incredibly bright future.

Artwork:

"Blown Away, Human Trafficking (Anonymous Girl)" is a digital oil painting speaking to the loss of innocence and terrors associated with the nightmare of preying upon and trafficking the very smallest of our humans.
