Artist Statement:
This artwork began with questions. How has the American electorate become so easily enraged and so easily manipulated? Who is behind untruths and the intentional stirring up of tribal distrust and enmity? Focusing on domestic political turmoil, Bobbi hopes to peel back the layers of pretense and reveal the powerful and malevolent forces at work. Her images are giving voice to her outrage. Informed, reasoned decision-making, it seems, does not have a chance.

A large portion of America’s electorate seems to be beyond control. Ravenous. Perpetually angry. Reason and building understanding between groups might calm the beast. Instead, it is fed a steady diet of ignorance and bigotry. Bobbi has chosen a bright, cheerful palette and the aesthetic of comic-book-style rendering to offer commentary on the forces unleashed and at work in America.
