Description
Artist Statement:
I’m a Finnish photographer and I see the world in vibrant colors.
I love to travel and learn about different cultures and hopefully bring a piece back in my photos for others to enjoy as well. I enjoy alternative processes and love to convey messages through either the medium I use or the way I display my images. My subjects vary a lot depending on what is going on in my life, or my family's life, or just in the world around us. I believe images help us process our feelings and I often photograph to better understand mine or those around me.
Artwork:
When I was in San Francisco for the first time, a mural in Chinatown caught my eye. The woman on the wall seemed to be watching a man that was on his phone and had just walked past a homeless man without paying any attention to him. I thought about all the layers happening and took a photo. One of the most basic human needs is to be seen by others. To be seen, heard and validated is what we all need, yet we seem to be falling short as a society in doing that for each other.
